In anticipation of a home Rugby League World Cup, the RFL are running their biggest ever recruitment drive – ‘InspiredBy’ – to encourage more people to play rugby league.
As part of the ‘InspiredBy’ campaign, Leigh Centurions and Leigh Community Trust will be supporting Three Lions Week, where we will be providing people of all ages and abilities the chance to get involved in rugby league through our different activities, sessions and club open days.
Running between 25 Sept – 2 Oct, Three Lions Week looks to capitalise on rugby league fever by starting the day after the men’s Grand Final and two weeks prior to the Rugby League World Cup kicking off.
Centurions Josh Charnley commented “A home Rugby League World Cup will be amazing for our sport. I know everyone is excited about the prospect of England lifting the trophy and hopefully that inspires more people around the country to try rugby league for the first time.”
Leigh Community Trust and ex-Scotland International Mick Nanyn said about the week “Here at the Centurionsand Community Trust we run loads of activities and sessions that cater for people of all ages and abilities. “Rugby League is definitely a sport for everyone, and Three Lions Week is a great way to encourage people to come and give it a go.”
