Leigh Community Trust recognises its responsibility to promote safe practice and are fully committed to safeguarding children and young people. The staff and volunteers within the Trust work together and embrace the diversity and difference of the individuals and respect the rights of the children and young people. The Trust takes full responsibility to ensure that the best practice has been implemented at the highest standard, across all of the Foundations administrative, operation and development activities.
The child protection policy and safeguarding guidelines are clear statements of intent that demonstrates the Trust’s commitment to all of our children, young people, vulnerable adults, their families, our funders, our supporters and our staff.
The communication and development of safeguarding and child protection guidelines gives everyone working at the Trust a clear and concise understanding of what is expected from them when they are working with the children, young people and vulnerable adults.
All members working with children, young people and vulnerable adults within the Trust are CRB checked to ensure awareness and understanding of the policy. The trustees will also ensure that the members of the Trust will continue with good practice guidelines and principles set out within the policy but also to improve and develop all practices and policies by assessing and reviewing our procedures.
